Do you want to meet other Wikidata editors, attend a workshop or organize one? Don't hesitate to add a section on this page or use the talk page to suggest ideas!

If you are planning a workshop for Wikidata editors, see Wikidata:Planning a Wikidata workshop.

Wikidata birthday[edit]

At the end of October 2020, we celebrate Wikidata's 8th anniversary. That's the perfect occasion to organize a meetup in your town! See the dedicated page here.

Upcoming events[edit]

on Wikimedia Space[edit]

If you have events to come, please create an entry in the dedicated calendar on Space. You can still create a subpage of Wikidata:Events/ to describe your event (details about the program, registration list...) and link it from the calendar entry.

On this page you can see a list of all events having the "wikidata" tag.

In order to create a new event:

  • Make sure that you're logged in on Wikimedia Space (easy log in with your Wikidata account via OAuth)
  • Go to this page and choose "new topic"
  • Enter all details about your event (title, description, date, time, location...)
  • Enter a link to a Wikidata page if you created one
  • Make sure that the "wikidata" tag is added so the entry appears on the list

on Wikidata[edit]

Some events (conferences) can be entered in Wikidata. You can find them on this page on Scholia, as well as related submission deadlines.

  • A new academic course featuring Wikidata opened on October 15th at Tel Aviv University. The elective is called "From Web 2.0 to Web 3.0, from Wikipedia to Wikidata" and it's the 1st for-credit course in the world to focus on Wikidata! The course is available to all undergraduate students at TAU, from all disciplines, and is led by educator & Wikimedian Shani Evenstein. Isn't this a perfect gift for WD's Bday? :)
  • A Wikidata workshop will be led by Shani Evenstein, in collaboration with Wikimedia Israel & and the Israel Internet Association, on 18th & 25th of October in Tel Aviv. The first meeting will be dedicated to an introduction and adding information to WD, and the second meeting will focus on querying & SPARQL.

Office hours[edit]

There are regular Wikidata online office hours where everyone can ask questions to the Wikidata development team and discuss important issues. They are announced on the Wikidata mailing list and in the Weekly Summary.

You can find a (probably incomplete) list of past events and office hours on the archive page.
